The Sierra Air 500 from Vango, is not only a superb 5 person inflatable tent, but the emphasis has been on ventilation. Better ventilation not only keeps the tent fresh and aids a better nights sleep, but also helps reduce condensation. The Sierra Air 500 has added ventilation throughout the tent and also behind the bedrooms.
So lets have a look around. At the front of the Sierra there is a sun canopy, this offers a great place to sit out of the sun and watch the world go by, but also stops rain entering the front door. Speaking of which, the front door can be opened a doors width, or fully opened up to make full use of the canopy. The door leads through to the living area which is really spacious and has a fully sewn in groundsheet. All access to the tent and living area are flat entry making them ideal for pushchair, pram and wheel chair access. There is a large diamond clear window on the side of the living area and a door on the other. All doors and windows have a mesh backing that can be closed so the breeze comes through but not the bugs. At the back are the queen sized darkened bedrooms, queen sized because they offer the user wider sleeping space, and darkened because they block sunlight from entering through, ensuring you have a good nights sleep.
The fabric of the tent is made using colourlok to help reduce sun fade, and is 100% waterproof thanks to the hydrostatic head of 4000mm. The fabric is Vango's Sentinel, which is strong and durable.
The whole tent despite it's size can be inflated in minutes with the pump that is provided.
