The Solo Stove Campfire Plus 2 Pot Set – the campfire cook’s dream

Food is a significant part of any holiday. One of the criteria when searching for holidays is the type of catering you want: self-catering, full board, half board etc.

When planning a camping holiday it’s no different. You make a decision before you travel as to how and where you’re going to eat. You might decide you want to alternate eating at the local pub and getting takeaway food, or you might prefer to dine at your tent. Your choice could be determined by whether you have space in your car for cooking equipment, or quite simply whether you want to cook while on holiday.

If embracing the outdoors into the evening and al fresco dining and cooking on a camping stove are your thing, we have the ideal solution.

At BCH Camping we stock the perfect camping stove ‘cooking, eating and chatting’ package (but you bring the chatter). Let us introduce you to the Solo Stove Campfire Plus 2 Pot Set. You not only get a fantastic portable stove but also two pots in which you can bring your culinary creations to life. It’s all you need for perfect nights around the campfire.

Who are Solo Stove?

Solo Stove is a US company based in Southlake, Texas that has been making high-end wood burning camp stoves and fire pits since 2011. Their low-smoke fire pits use the Solo Stove patented airflow design that leads to ultra-efficient combustion. They also manufacture grills and accessories.
The Solo Stove range of camping stoves was developed through a love of camping and the demand for a more durable and lightweight product.

The Solo Stove Campfire

The Sole Stove Campfire has enviable credentials. It is the number one woodburning camping stove recommended by Backpacker Magazine and survivalists including Discovery Channel’s Matt Graham and Joel Lambert.

How does the Solo Stove campfire work?

The 360° Airflow Design™ creates a super-efficient burn, using just sticks and twigs. No other fuel is required. The Solo Stove campfire features a unique double wall that creates ultra-clean gasification and a secondary combustion. This allows fuel to burn more completely and with less smoke. But how does this work?
Rising hot air, and the absence of oxygen created by the combustion process, pulls air through the vent holes that are positioned at the bottom of the unit. The fire is fuelled by this movement of air which also provides a boost of preheated air through vent holes at the top.

The ash pan catches loose ash to prevent it from clogging the airflow and stops the stove from scorching the ground. The wire grate that holds the sticks and twigs allows oxygen to be fed to the embers from below. The biofuel is then able to burn faster and hotter.

The vent holes near the top enable the flames to be fuelled by preheated oxygen which provides a more complete combustion, hotter fire and less smoke. The cooking ring directs the heat towards the centre of your cooking pot and acts as a screen against the wind to allow the oxygen to fuel the flame.

How to use the Solo Stove campfire

  • Find level ground
  • Clear away ground debris
  • Remove the cooking ring
  • Gather dry sticks and tinder
  • Fill the stove with the dry sticks and tinder
  • Light a fire inside the stove
  • Replace the cooking ring and cook!
After use there is no need to clean the Solo Stove campfire. Once cooled, simply shake away any remaining ashes and put the stove in its stuff sack. Keep the stove in a cool and dry place when not in use.
