A longer length jacket

The first thing you will notice about the women’s Rab Valiance Parka jacket is its length. It is much longer than its standard Valiance predecessor, providing cover for the thighs. Not only is this a practical feature that offers additional protection from the rain, it is also very much on-trend. Longer jackets have been the preferred choice in women’s fashion for the last few winters.

Recycled down

With the Rab Valiance Parka you benefit from incredible warmth which is provided by the 100% recycled down with a fill power of 700. What does this mean to you? The fill power measures the loft and quality of the down based on the space that one ounce of down will occupy in cubic inches. A higher fill power means that the down retains its firmness for longer. In outerwear, the fill power generally ranges from 500 to 800, so the Rab Valiance Parka is at the top end of the scale, keeping you toasty warm.

The narrow bonded boxwall construction of the jacket reduces the weight and bulk of the down. It also stabilises the down, allowing it to fully loft and trap the air for optimum warmth.

100% waterproof

The Rab Valiance Parka has been made with a durable and waterproof 30D Pertex® Shield coated fabric with a Hydrostatic Head (HH) of 10,000mm. This means that a column of water would need to be 10,000mm tall before it could penetrate the fabric. Ticking the sustainability box, the 30D Pertex® Shield coated fabric has been made with fluorocarbon-free durable water repellents (DWR). Fluorocarbons, often found in outerwear, are harmful to the environment.

Hood and cuffs

The hood is wire peaked which keeps it in position, protecting the face. The hood and slimline cuffs are filled with two way adjustable Stratus™ synthetic insulation which is fast drying and provides exceptional moisture management. The cuffs can be cinched in using hook and loop tabs.

Zips and pockets

• There is a 2-way YKK® VISLON® front zip with internal zip baffle
• The two hand warmer pockets have 2 YKK® AquaGuard® zips
• An internal security pocket has a YKK® zip
