Features of the Mountain Equipment Nanda Devi men’s jacket

2-layer GORE-TEX 75D fabric with ePE membrane and FC free DWR

• GORE-TEX is a waterproof, breathable fabric membrane that repels water in its liquid form, while allowing water vapour (or sweat) to pass through. Basically, it uses high level technology to keep you dry from the outside and on the inside.
• ePE membrane – ePE is expanded polyethylene. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio so is light and thin, yet strong.
• FC free DWR – stands for fluorocarbon-free durable water repellents. Fluorocarbons are used in fabric treatments but they are harmful chemicals that gradually find their way into the water system. Mountain Equipment use fluorocarbon-free water repellents as part of their sustainability and eco-friendly design strategy.

Mountain hood

The Mountain hood is Mountain Equipment’s smallest waterproof hood, keeping the jacket light in weight. It is fully adjustable.

Alpine fit

Mountain Equipment’s Alpine fit keeps the jacket lightweight and offers articulated and pre-shaped sleeves which provide ease of movement, ideal for all-round mountaineering and walking.

Pockets

The Nanda Davi jacket has 2 large pockets with YKK zips that have self-locking puller technology so that they can be pulled and locked without slipping.  There are external storm flaps to prevent moisture from penetrating the zips.

There is also an inner pocket with YKK zip.

Moulded centre front zip

On the front of the jacket, there is a 2-way YKK moulded zip with external storm flap.

Underarm pit zips

Short venting zips in the armpit reduce the build-up of heat and sweat, cooling you down when open. They offer you the option of opening them when you’re feeling the heat or keeping them shut.

Adjustable cuffs

The cuffs are laminated and adjustable.

Dual tether hem drawcords

Dual tether hem drawcords allow you to draw in the bottom of the jacket to keep the cold out.
